GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS

Tuition Fee Scholarship: This is a scholarship granted to successful graduate students, covering all or half of the tuition fee for graduate study. Those students who have been granted full Tuition Fee Scholarships which cover the fees fully are expected to work 4 hours a week in duties they are assigned.

The duration of this scholarship cannot exceed two academic years at the graduate (M.A.) level and four academic years at the Ph.D. level. The continuation of the scholarship depends upon the conscientious performance of the student in carrying out the given duties as well as her/his GPA which should not fall below 3.0, with the exception of a 2.75 admissible for a single semester for all the period of their graduate study. Failure at the dissertation phase may cause the abolishment of this scholarship upon the decision by the Graduate Studies Institute Executive Board, as based on the student's thesis advisor's and the Graduate Studies Institute Departmental Chair's opinions.

The number of stipends, their departmental distribution and positions are determined via the suggestion by Executive Boards of the Institute and upon the approval of the University Senate.

Employment Scholarship: This is a scholarship which amounts to the actual salary received by those successful graduate students in return for their work at Işık University departments and units. Their working hours cannot exceed 10 hours a week. Graduate students may receive this scholarship for one or two semesters in order to work at positions determined in regard to the needs of University units, as determined by Institutes.
